Health and Safety

The health and safety of students and our staff is our priority. We’re committed to providing
a high quality and safe environment for children and families at all times.

Pearlily classrooms are regularly sanitized and inspected to comply with rigorous cleanliness standards. This includes routinely cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched materials and surfaces. Teachers perform a wellness check before a child is allowed into the building and should a child exhibit illness during the day, parents will be notified immediately to pick up the child and bring them home. Teachers also ensure that children follow proper hand sanitizing and hygiene as needed throughout the day. Parents are strongly discouraged from entering the facility.

Pearlily Montessori teachers exceed the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services minimum requirements. They’re highly trained and dedicated teachers who are enthusiastic, warm, and nurturing. With their background in early childhood education and training in the Montessori Method, our teachers understand the developmental stages of a child and can guide them accordingly to realize their potential. In addition, our teachers are required to submit to a background check and must fulfill the requirements of the Protecting God’s Children Seminar directed by the Catholic Diocese of Columbus. As a pre-requisite to teaching at Pearlily, teachers also must be CPR-trained and First-Aid certified.

The Pearlily Montessori campus has restricted access with the entrance/exit and outdoor space being always monitored. Only parents and approved caregivers can sign in/out children. We also have a strict visitor policy—no one is allowed into the building without an appointment and all guests must be accompanied by a member of the staff once inside. As part of our emergency preparedness protocol, we implement periodic fire drills, tornado drills, evacuation drills, and other emergency response plans.

We continuously monitor news and developments in and around our community regarding COVID-19. When it comes to masking, social distancing, quarantine, and travel, we strictly adhere to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), childcare licensing (Ohio Department of Family Job and Family Services), the local health department, and other government organizations. We will adapt and make changes to our health and safety protocols as needed when new information become available.
