“Very interesting and helpful. I was able to put myself in the shoes of what a child would go through in Montessori,” is how one parent described the experience of taking a closer look at the Montessori philosophy and approach to early childhood education.

Children aged six months to six years have a need for functional independence, such as learning to put on their own clothes and shoes, eat, and use the bathroom on their own. Children at this age have a special mental ability to absorb information from their surroundings, learning from what they see, smell, taste, touch, and hear.

Dr. Maria Montessori used her scientific discoveries about children at different stages of development to create an optimal learning environment for them to grow and develop. She placed a strong emphasis on the environment because it is through the environment that the child learns.

Begin your journey and discovery of what a Montessori education is about by exploring the classroom environment through the lens of quiet observation, gathering first impressions as a child would during their first hours at school. Take in the Montessori classroom’s sensory richness and detail, and the feeling of order and sequence that so eloquently fascinates children who work within.

Then actively engage with select Montessori lessons and materials across learning domains and discover the qualities that are so magical for children. Receive a lesson from one of our guides on sandpaper letters, taking the time to feel the rough pattern of the letter “a” and saying the sound. Or know first-hand the amount of concentration it takes to do the cylinder blocks… blindfolded.

At Pearlily Montessori, we are a community of learners. Through this “Journey and Discovery Experience,” you’ll gain a much deeper understanding of the Montessori method and philosophy of early childhood education, as well as get to know Pearlily Montessori.

The Pearlily Montessori campus in Dublin, Ohio is located in the nucleus of a vibrant neighborhood and community. It sits right next to a beautiful park, Llewellyn Farms Park, which features tennis and basketball courts, a picnic shelter, and a playground. An elementary school, Griffin Thomas Elementary School, is adjacent to the park and within walking distance of the School. A recently constructed bike path connects the neighborhood to the historic center of the city in Old Dublin, and the multi-use district in New Dublin.

In addition to Tuttle Mall and the presence of several major hotels and restaurants, the campus is surrounded by a number of office complexes such as Cramer Creek Corporate Park and Metro Center which many companies and businesses call home. Just next door is The Corners, a new mixed use development of retail, office and a community park. It’s a stone’s throw away from Cornhenge, and just a short drive from Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Worthington, Powell, and Plain City.

From 270, the school is just 2-3 miles from the Tuttle Crossing or US 33 exits.
