2026 Pearlily Montessori Summer Camp

Wonder in Bloom

Six Weeks of Discovery, Creativity, and Hands-On Summer Joy

Summer at Pearlily Montessori is a season of wonder, movement, creativity, and discovery. In our Wonder in Bloom Summer Camp, each week invites children into a new hands-on adventure designed to spark curiosity and joyful learning. From art and animals to gardens, building, stories, and the science of flight, children will explore meaningful themes through engaging experiences that nurture independence, concentration, creativity, and care for the world around them.

Whether your child joins us for one week or all six, each session offers a warm, Montessori-inspired environment where learning happens through doing. For current families, summer camp is a joyful extension of the Pearlily experience. For new families, it is a wonderful introduction to what makes Montessori different: purposeful activity, real materials, mixed experiences of creativity and discovery, and a deep respect for each child’s natural development.

Pearlily Montessori STEAM Summer Camp - All Aboard Explorers

The 6 Weekly Sessions

Week 1: June 8-12
Maker’s Meadow

A Week of Art, Imagination, and Creative Discovery

This opening week invites children to explore the joy of making with their hands. Through painting, collage, clay, texture play, and nature-inspired art, campers will create original works that reflect their own ideas and imagination. Process matters more than perfection, and children will be encouraged to experiment freely, make choices, and take pride in what they create.

In true Montessori spirit, this week emphasizes independence, creativity, concentration, and confidence. Children will explore color, shape, texture, and design while engaging in meaningful work that is both beautiful and hands-on. It is a playful and welcoming way to begin the summer. It gives children the freedom to create, explore materials, and express themselves in a calm, purposeful setting rather than through overstimulation or busywork.

Week 2: June 15-19
Wild Wonders

An Animal Adventure in Discovery and Care

This week, children will journey into the fascinating world of animals. Through stories, movement, matching activities, art, games, and imaginative play, campers will discover animals from different habitats and learn what makes them unique. From furry friends to feathered flyers and underwater creatures, the animal kingdom becomes a source of awe and learning.

A special highlight of the week is an immersive animal-care experience inspired by the work of a veterinarian. After hearing from a local community helper, children will step into the role of gentle caregivers as they examine and care for plush “patients” using child-friendly veterinary tools in a purposeful pretend clinic.

This week beautifully supports Montessori values of empathy, observation, language development, and care for living things. Children are naturally drawn to animals, and this theme channels that fascination into learning, compassion, and purposeful play.

Week 3: June 22-26
Stories in Color

An Eric Carle-Inspired Week of Art, Literature, and Imagination

Inspired by the beloved books of Eric Carle, this week brings literature to life through vibrant art and storytelling. Children will listen to classic stories, explore themes from each book, and create their own colorful works using collage, painting, and mixed-media techniques inspired by Carle’s distinctive style.

Books such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Mixed-Up Chameleon, and The Busy Spider offer rich opportunities for conversation, sequencing, vocabulary, creativity, and visual expression. Children will not only enjoy the stories, but also respond to them in meaningful, hands-on ways.

This week is especially strong as an introduction to Montessori because it shows how literacy, art, imagination, and language can be woven together in a thoughtful, joyful experience. It combines beloved children’s literature with creativity and rich language experiences in a way that feels both playful and educational.

Week 4: June 29 – July 3
Seeds and Sprouts

A Garden Week of Nature, Growth, and Gentle Stewardship

In this nature-filled week, children will dig into the wonders of the garden. They will plant seeds, observe growth, learn about soil and insects, explore the needs of living things, and discover how small hands can help care for the earth. Through gardening activities, outdoor observation, nature art, and practical experiences, children will connect deeply with the rhythms of summer.

This week naturally supports Montessori values of responsibility, patience, stewardship, and wonder. Children begin to see themselves as capable caretakers of the natural world, learning that growth takes time, attention, and care. It gives children real experiences with nature, responsibility, and the life cycle of plants in a way that is tactile, calming, and deeply meaningful.

Week 5: July 6-10
Tinker and Build

A Week of Inventing, Problem-Solving, and Hands-On Engineering

This week is designed for curious minds that love to figure out how things work. Using recycled materials, loose parts, simple tools, building challenges, and open-ended exploration, campers will imagine, construct, test, and redesign their ideas. Children may build ramps, towers, bridges, moving creations, or collaborative inventions as they explore basic engineering concepts through experience.

Rather than focusing on one “right answer,” this week celebrates experimentation, persistence, teamwork, and problem-solving. It reflects the Montessori belief that children learn best by doing, trying, observing, and trying again.

This is a strong week for demonstrating how Montessori nurtures independence and real thinking skills rather than passive entertainment. It channels children’s natural curiosity into creativity, resilience, and practical thinking while making learning active and exciting.

Week 6: July 13-17
Wings, Wind, and Wonder

A Week of Flight, Motion, and Summer Sky Exploration

In our final session, children will look up and explore the movement of the world above them. Through activities centered on wind, motion, birds, insects, kites, and simple flying objects, campers will investigate how things move through the air. They will observe, test, build, and experiment as they create windsocks, flying art, and simple models inspired by the science of flight.

As the week unfolds, children move from wonder to discovery to invention. They will ask questions, make predictions, and delight in seeing their creations move in the summer breeze. This week closes the camp season on an uplifting, energetic note.

It is a beautiful blend of science, creativity, outdoor exploration, and joyful movement. It feels like summer at its best: light, breezy, active, and full of wonder, while still grounded in thoughtful, hands-on learning.
